Ernie Ernie....were do I start you have been a close family friend for many many years ....when I use to come up with my girls Sonia and Zoe you use to try and give them fish to eat ... me not being a fish eater would say “Noooo Ernie don’t give them that they won’t like it !!! It was this slimy stuff in a jar “Roe” I think it was called...then there was the shrimp,wells,crab...YUK!!! Well to my surprise my girls grew to love all fish and still do to this day Sonia see you a few weeks back and you asked for a live crab next time she is down the beach...when we left she said “I’m going to surprise Ernie and go and get him one when we are aloud back out .. me and Steve will go and pick him one up ..I said “he will love that “...also remember the trips to Belgium and to your hometown Scarborough...you loved going there and telling us all the stories of your younger days...time went on then I had my son Kieron...had many holidays in Faliraki with you Kieron said the other day “I will always remember Ernie teaching me to fish in Faliraki “ saying be careful on them rocks they are slippery....going back to hotel so proud with lots of fish for the locals to eat ...you always had a DRY joke when I came up ...and use to sing “Julie Julie do you love me “ (a song that was out way before my time lol “ ) and then my Grandchildren came along and got to meet you to ....my Saydi was so proud just before Christmas when she stood and sang you a song and you wanted her to come up again to sing more ...sadly that wasn’t to be.. so glad I got to share your last holiday with you and family...have so many happy memories Ernie could go on and on ... you went to soon you are going to be missed so so much but may you now Rest in Peace ...Goodnight and Godbless You 🙏🏻 Thankyou for the memories x
